My name is Fernanda Wüthrich.
I live and love intercultural and social communication
and have made it my mission to share my theoretical and practical
insights with you.
What are my areas of expertise?
As a communication scientist, I have been focusing on the following topics for over 25 years:
Increasing globalisation intensifies international interdependence in every area of our lives. Especially in the workplace, cultural differences can bring potential for conflict. My approach is to ensure constructive cooperation through understanding between representatives of different cultures. Each culture has its own strengths: My goal is to identify and promote these strengths of individuals within a team or a system.
Crisis and Conflict Management
Due to the fast pace and dynamics of the digital age, many companies reach their limits. I focus on training managers and specialists in companies using preventive approaches such as the development of strategic relationships with stakeholders or internal trust-building in order to prepare them as well as possible for a crisis situation.
Diversity & Inclusion
Added value through diversity – I believe in the potential and opportunities that a heterogeneous composition of individuals brings. Diversity is a great opportunity for the company and its employees. But only by taking individual differences into account and promoting a holistic corporate culture can this potential be tapped.
Reputation management and credibility with stakeholders is not only a topic for the company management, but also for employees and all those who speak on behalf of the company. I would be happy to help you develop and implement an adequate communication strategy.
What do I offer?
As a communication all-rounder with a focus on intercultural and social communication and conflict management, I offer the following four services:
In my interactive workshops, participants deal theoretically and practically with the topics of intercultural communication and conflict management and gain added value for themselves, for cooperation in the team and in relation to the entire company and its stakeholders..
For those who prefer to deal “passively” with the subject matter, I offer keynote presentations for training intercultural teams or management positions in SMEs or international corporations.
Sometimes the fronts between two parties have already hardened to such an extent that the conflict can only be resolved with the help of a third party. When all attempts at a reasonable settlement of the problem fail, I offer my expertise in crisis communication as a mediator.
I have been heavily involved in the community building concept for self-organisation and reconstruction of destroyed societies and have been investigating how media can contribute to self-organisation and reconstruction of a community. The focus of my work is on the meaning of community building and the phases of the emergence of communities.
